Deep Brook

Description:

The Deep Brook segment runs from Commerce Rd. to the southern terminus of Al's Trail near Queen St. in Newtown. The last part of the trail is a beautiful and secluded walk through the forest next to the stream, that belies its location within a mile of the center of town.

Highlights:

Deep Brook has its headwaters at the view of Newtown on Castle Hill Road and behind Head O’ Meadow School. It flows through Dickinson Town Park, the golf course, under the railroad and Wasserman’s way and through a railroad tunnel. It is a Class A-1 trout stream, a living museum of native brook trout that have been breeding there for centuries.
